Gaps in local suicide prevention activity
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention have published a report on 20 January 2015 that highlights worrying gaps in suicide prevention provision. The findings show that around 30% don’t have a local suicide prevention action plan, around 40% don’t have a multi-agency suicide prevention group and around 30% don’t collect suicide data. The Judi Meadows Memorial Fund calls on local areas to fully implement the recommendations of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy and ensure that suicide prevention is urgently made a greater priority.
